The inspiration behind Nonna’s Gelato all began 93 years ago with one wonderful, little Italian woman, my Nonna! Like many Italians, family and food are the most important things to her. Food is always at its finest when made from scratch and enjoyed together.
We’ve learnt all we can from our Nonna and plowed our Italian heritage combined with our love of seasonal, local produce into something quite special. Our gelato is an Italian/British fusion (like us!), combining the traditional Italian process of making gelato with only the best of British and Italian produce.
From our family run kitchen, we infuse, pasteurise, age and churn all our batches by hand and with a whole heap of amore!
We believe only the best quality, natural ingredients produce the best gelato, nothing nasty and artificial allowed! We only use the freshest, organic milk and cream from the best Jersey cows in the UK and work closely with all our suppliers to bring you the tastiest gelato around.
All ingredients where possible are organic and we are a member of Slow Food and follow their philosophies in our approach and processes.
We love working with suppliers right on our doorstep and have created delicious flavours using Climpsons & Sons Coffee and The Five Points Brewing Co's Railway Porter. We source our fruit and nuts from local farms in Kent and even handpick some ourselves!
